advertisement

Wine is a product that is much appreciated by the people in general.

Portugal is one of the countries that have a greater variety of grapes and they are exploited to the maximum to produce wine, so i decided to do an advert for wine with the objective to innovate a product where the ads usually are a little conservative, so i transformed it into something more modern and fun.

    I started to choose an image for my project base

    I cut the glass of wine image and turn around it with the objective to be directed to the background image and to have an interaction between the Dracula and the glass of wine falling.

    The last thing to do was chose the lettering and the filters.
    The lettering that i chose it's called "Jared", the reason of that choice was because i really wanted to put something to give a visual break and communicates with the direction of the ad, it is a letter that shows movement, speed and it's modern. 
     The Filter was choses to enhance the color and darken the whole image for greater contrast, the name of the filter is "Glamour".

I thought about choosing in a minimalist way the image of the teeth dripping blood into the Red wine glass and create horizontal and perpendicular lines to flow with the lettering and create a small inverted cross.

We started to learn how to use Pixlr and for technical process, i started to choose a picture of a Landscape.

    We went to PixlR and we started with choose a size that our tutor demonstrated in the class exemple.

   The, i put my image in the first layer and cut a piece of the photo

    After cut all pieces that i wanted, i started trying filters and adjustments

    I added some text after choose the lettering. I tried put some lines like we saw in class, but i thought it was too much information to put in my image.

Advertising research

 

I searched about the idea to explore the seduction, luxury and the beauty, so i started to search french drink advertisements from last century, because i was consider doing a red wine advertising.

I always had a passion about the vintage posters because of the way of promotion an idea and a product with wholly graphic elements with a splendid eye-catching sensation.

How i wanted to explore the red color of wine, i found interesting interconnect with vampirism so i remembered to search about "Dracula" movie (1931) and see the advertisements about the movie.
Dracula is a Gothic horror novel from 1897 by the Irish author Bram Stoker.

As a third reference i searched about a Portuguese wine from Dão that calls "Melange à 3", i found interesting the fact that they used a funny name to call audience attention, is a wine for social events and to drink with friends. 



For my project i want to use the Red color because creates an atmosphere of energy, excitement, dynamism, and passion that is used many times for stores liquidations to give an urgent sensation. The black because is powerful and smooth, many times used for luxury brands giving a sensation of power, mystery, sophistication, elegance and simplicity. The white because transmits confidence and transparency in the brand.

Introduction To My Blog Buddy

Hello, my Blog buddy is Nisanur Seker, she will support my work and  review every week what i post in favor of support each other's work and i am excited to get to know her better.

Nisanur is from Belgium, in the past years she studied Fashion Specialisation and Trendstudy, she have a huge interest in Fashion and wishes to grow lot more in this area, pretending in next year study Fashion Comunication and Styling.

Interesting facts about Nisanur are that she played Basketball for five years but stopped because of injury, she is interested in Fashion and also have interest in Acting.

Captivity

Diary of a Pandemic
Deprivation of freedom without bondage.

I choose the theme: Captivity due to the times we face nowadays because of the pandemic, the request was perform a Photographic sequence for Digital Arts classes.

One of my references was the studies of Isabel Behncke, a Chilean scientist, who lived with primates for three years, her studies help to understand the effects that the quarantine imposed by the pandemic have on us, as individuals and as a specie. My sources of inspiration were Duane michalsDiane Arbus and Anna Mikhailovskaia i also reasearched in "The Art Photography" Web site

Our behavior in social confinement does not differ much from other social Animals when placed in captivity, because being in isolation has a profound effect on our physical and mental health, therefore, with my sequence i wanted to hyperbolize and represent the human feeling in full Pandemic situation.

Diane Arbus was a North-American writer and photographer that i based my project search, because she can capture in black and white raw form the life of common people.














Technical Memory

After search and imagine what i wanted to do, i started drawing the Story Board with two separate sequences of three photos. I schematized the spotlight before take the pictures to get more easy.
For the Red photo i used a red lamp that i have in my bedroom and for the next one i used the mobile phone flashlight.











The App i used was LightX to edict and put some filters and Microsoft Word to stitch the photos together.

Welcome

Welcome to my Blog,
This Blog was created based on Digital Arts classes.

My name is Maria Galriça, I am twenty years old.
I have always been connected to the arts since i was little because of my mother. 
I used to make and paint pottery and later i started drawing ideas to make them physical, it took me to study Set Design in Portugal where I found my passion in Fashion Design.
I experienced many artistic areas at my previous school from jewelry to textiles which allowed me get to know various materials and their manipulations, therefore i came to study for DMU to explore my artistic ability and learn. 

I'm very in love with nature, because of its organic shapes and textures, being a great inspiration source either personal or artistic. My biggest Fashion reference is Iris Van Herpen, a Dutch Fashion Designer, because she works with nature textures giving an organic illusion and fluidity, she use materials as diverse as metal lace, silicone, glass and iron filings wich in my opinion is marvelous.
